A few entries back I said that I really cannot imagine what they could do with the next Batman film to top The Dark Knight. Well, I think I might change my mind if they brought in the characters of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, in the forms of ladies like Amber Heard and Amy Adams, respectively. And, of course, threw in some homosexual overtones. Man, would that fucken rule or what!
The relationship has a homo-erotic quality. Many have theorized, based on the strong lesbian overtones in the Harley and Ivy stories, that the characters are, in fact, bisexual. While she frequently refers to the Joker as “Puddin’” and “Mr. J”, she refers to Poison Ivy as “Red” (a reference to her red hair). (Source)
