Time has come today
Young hearts can go their way
Can’t put it off another day
I don’t care what others say
They say we don’t listen anyway
Time has come today
I have no place to stay (Hey)

Today was supposed to be a great day of change one thought. But now we’ve taken one step forward and a giant leap back, first the Grey’s issue I wrote about and now this

This is really saddening and disgusting to me. :(

How… disgraceful. Setting aside the sexual orientation-aspect of the issue (because I tire of stating the obvious — or at least what I thought was the obvious, until now), I find it outrageous that the American government feels entitled to act as the moral police of the nation, particularly in matters that are (or should be) private, are of no consequence to the administration itself and are not (or should I add yet) criminal. Way to restrict constitutional (and moral) rights — fuck, the Californians did it themselves! Well done. The mere concept is so ridiculously dumb that I’d laugh, if it wasn’t such a serious matter.

Moreover, I find it even more outrageous (not to mention astounding) that the Americans (or the majority of the Californians, rather) are actually willingly and publicly giving away their right to privacy in personal life by passing this amendment. If I were American, I would not like where this was going, whether I was pro gay marriage or no…

If something like this was even suggested in my country by any person of political significance, it would create such a public outrage there would be a lot of politicians giving notice following it. (But then we managed to make a huge political crisis out of one politician’s some 200 raunchy text messages to a second-rate blonde dancer bimbo, who decided to make some easy money and go with them to the tabloids. )
