Last Films Watched #003

Baxter’s fertilizer, and everyone’s standing there just… staring. Why don’t they just catch that thing? How hard could it be in a place full of dead ends? – Ginger Snaps

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I did! I don’t have much time (family is out right now, still here from the Holiday) but I’ve been watching a lot of films lately so I will post before I forget, hehe!

The Spirit (2008)
- Eh. eh. eh… Where to begin? WHY? Was this bad! Seriously? Normally I’m pretty pleased if I like a trailer, but man this one just fell way out of bounds. It was so boring. In parts too much dialogue, in some not enough dialogue. It’s visually beautiful, but yeah, we’ve seen it before with other films like Sin City so it’s not like it’s particularly groundbreaking. The ladies are fantabulous. Eva Mendes is smokin’ hot, Jaime King as the Angel of Death? Well I’d probably kill myself right now. Scarlett had some cool outfits and I liked her character but in all, she did nothing fpr me in comparison to the other girls and Samuel L. Jackson might get the Oscar for worst performance, not since Star Wars: Episode III have I seen such annoying acting from him. And atleast he’s funny in Ep III even if he doesn’t try to be. In this one he tries to be funny and just isn’t. Gabriel Macht is totally gorgeous and I like him in his other movies but I really didn’t like this role at all. Oh well, Frank Miller, will you finally get your head out of your ass and go back to work with Robert Rodriguez on Sin City 2 now? I know you technically created Sin City but I think this just proves you owe a lot to Mr. Rodriguez for giving you the rediscovered ‘cred’ with the industry you have had.

The Curious Case of Bejamin Button (2008)
- Wonferful! Read my full thoughts here on my LJ.

Oh My God, I Shot My Eye Out!

Only I didn’t say “Fudge.” I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the “F-dash-dash-dash” word! – A Christmas Story

I wanted to wish you all a wonderful Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Nothing Like The Holidays

Ugh! The past three days (two for sure) have been horrible…

I went to a family reunion this weekend for Christmas and I caught a virus going around from someone. I felt it the instant I got it, I was freezing the whole time I was at the party but I didn’t know just what was in store for me. I found out the next day that my Aunt and myself got the same thing that another member of our family had last week. Let me just say I rarely get sick, I mean I don’t wanna jinx myself here *knocks wood* but if I do get a light flu, it’s normally just a sore throat deal, and it’s gone in like a day – or I can still function – I don’t consider myself sick really unless I’m bedridden. I really hate being sick. The most obvious reason is you feel horrible – well quite frankly I’m too damn impatient to be sick. I can’t stand having to just lay in one spot, so that kills me more. Well that’s what happened this time. I honestly can’t remember the last time I was sick like this, I know it has to have been when I was a kid because I really have no memory of it (and I faked to get out of school a lot so who knows how many times I was really sick lmao). I felt like I could have been dying at times – I know that sounds like an extreme exaggeration but I got really worried, plus my emotions were really out of whack. One minute I would get terribly afraid and stressed out and having intense anxiety attacks and the next I would be crying about things, then later I would mellow out and just get back to the horrible feeling all over my body. Body aches, stomach aches, burning up, freezing, vomiting, and a lot worse details I’ll spare you. Needless to say If I don’t get sick like this ever again I will be very happy. But I am sure that won’t be the case. I just hope it won’t be anytime soon.
